Ladies and gentlemen, It is my great honor and privilege to greet you with a "Welcome" to Plovdiv - the sixth oldest living city in the world and the oldest in Europe. As a main cultural center of Bulgaria, Plovdiv deservedly won the title of European Capital of Culture in 2019. The city is home to impressive monuments of antiquity - Ancient Theater, Roman Stadium, Ancient Forum, wonderful examples of the Roman mosaic heritage exhibited in the Episcopal Basilica of Philippopolis and in the Small Early Christian Basilica. The old town of Plovdiv, the most beautiful jewel of the city, is a cultural phenomenon.

Уважаеми госпожи и господа, За мен е висока чест и привилегия да ви поздравя с „Добре дошли“ в Пловдив - шестият най-стар жив град в света и най-старият в Европа. Като основен културен център на България, Пловдив заслужено спе чели титлата Европейска столица на културата през 2019. Градът е дом на впечатляващи паметни ци на античността – Античен театър, Римски ста- дион, Античния форум, прекрасни образци на римско- то мозаечно наследство, експонирани в Епископ ската базилика на Филипопол и в Малката ранно християнска базилика. Старият град на Пловдив, най-красивото бижу на града, е културен феномен.

Щастлив съм да ви посрещнем в града, който зае четвърто място в престижната класация European Best Destinations за „Най добра европейска дестинация“ за 2022 г. и първо място за „Най-добра културна дестинация в Европа“, „Най-романтична дестинация в Европа“, „Най-добра винена дестинация в Европа“, както и за „Най добрата дестинация в България“. Казвам всичко това, защото вярвам, че най-важният, свързващ мост между културите, традициите, дружеските връзки на приятелство и сътрудничество между държавите винаги са били хората, а изкуство-то е най-добрия посланик! Искрено вярвам, че фотографията като изкуство е богатство, което изразява душата на човек и може да достигне до милиони хора по света. „IХ Международен Фото Салон Пловдив 2022“ се провежда под патронажа на FIAP, HPS и Фотографска академия „Янка Кюркчиева“, и отново с подкрепата на Община Пловдив. Той е важна част от Културния календар на нашия град, с който се гордеем. В шестте раздела тази година участват 3374 фотографии, представени от 267 автора от 33 държави, от 5 континента. За финалната селекция, петчленното международно жури от три държави (България, Сърбия и Франция), с председател Бранислав Бркич, MFIAP, HonEFIAP, EFIAP/s (Сърбия) определи 798 фотографии на 210 автора от 33 държави. Отново ще бъдат връчени наградите и на салона – златен, сребърен и бронзов медал и почетни ленти за всеки раздел. Така частица отПловдив ще зарадва автори по целия свят. Продължава и предизвикателство-то към младите автори от 16-21 години, които имаха възможност да участват безплатно в 2 раздела по избор. Сред селектираните фотографии на млади автори също има наградени! Поздравявам всички участници и победителите в „IХ Между народен Фото Салон Пловдив 2022“! Очакваме ви отново и през 2023 година! I am happy to welcome you to the city that took 4 TH place in the prestigious European Best Destinations ranking for "Best European Destination" for 2022 and 1 ST place for "Best Cultural Destination in Europe", "Most Romantic Destination in Europe", "Best wine destination in Europe", as well as for "Best destination in Bulgaria". I mention all this because I believe that people are the most important and connecting bridge between cultures, traditions, bonds of friendship and cooperation between countries and art is the best ambassador! I sincerely believe that photography as an art is a wealth that expresses a person's soul and can reach millions of people around the world. "IX International Photo Salon Plovdiv 2022" is being held under the patronage of FIAP, HPS and Academy of Photography Bulgaria "Yanka Kyurkchieva" and once again with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv. It is an important part of the Cultural Calendar of our city and we are very proud of it. In the six sections this year participate 3374 photographs, presented by 267 authors from 33 countries, from 5 continents. For the final selection, the five-member international jury from three countries (Bulgaria, Serbia and France), chaired by Branislav Brkić, MFIAP, HonEFIAP, EFIAP/s (Serbia) selected 798 photographs by 210 authors from 33 countries. The awards of the salon will be presented as well - gold, silver and bronze medals and ribbons of honor for each section. Thus, a piece of Plovdiv will be a delight for authors all over the world. The challenge to young authors aged 16-21, who had the opportunity to participate for free in 2 sections of their choice still goes on. Among the selected photographs of young authors there are also award-winning ones! I congratulate all participants and winners of the "IX International Photo Salon Plovdiv 2022"! I take photography as a kind of solitude – I need to feel the place to be able to capture the special moment, which very often lasts for minutes or seconds – a glimpse of the sun behind a cloud, a raging storm or a person passing by in the frame – and then disappears. If you‘re out with your camera often enough and have the patience to wait, luck is kinder to you. Seeking a non-standard point of view - this challenge and opportunity of photography attracts me the most. The camera is only a means through which you can recreate your ideas and sensations that the surrounding world evokes in us. In recent years, I have also been shooting from the air. Shot from above, even perfectly fami l iar places can surprise us with their shapes, and when we add l ight into the equation, the end result is very interesting. This type of photo-graphy can carry in itself the impartial ity of the report or through it you can express a personal position. A photograph is a narrow slice of space and time (says Susan Sontag) to which the photographer gives significance.

Приемам фотографията като вид уединение – имам нужда да усетя мястото, за да успея да уловя особения момент, който много често трае минути или секунди – пробляс ване на слънцето зад облак, разразяваща се буря или преминаващ човек в кадъра – и след това изчезва. Ако си достатъчно често навън с каме- рата и имаш търпението да изчакваш, късметът е по-щедър към теб. Да търсиш нестандарт ната гледна точка – това предизвикателство и възможност на фотографията ме привлича най- много. Фотоапаратът е само средство, чрез което можеш да пресъздадеш идеите и усеща нията си, които заобикалящия ни свят предиз виква в нас. Последните години снимам и от въздуха Заснети отгоре дори и съвършено познати места могат да ни изненадат с формите си, а като добавим и светлината в уравнението, крайният резултате много интересен. Този вид фотография може да носи в себе си и безпристрастността на репорта-жа или чрез нея да изразиш лична позиция. Снимката е тесен отрязък от пространство то и времето (казва Сюзън Зонтаг), на който фо тографът отдава значимост.

Won many accolades including - winner of British photography awards(2021), EPSON pano awards(Austral ia), Px3 (Paris), SIENA international photography awards, Benjamin Mkapa wi ldl ife photography awards(2022), Trirenberg super circuit (Austria) amongst others. Also the final ist of SONY world photo awards in 2021 in the wi ldl ife category with images exhibited at the prestigious Somerset house in London.

Milan Hristev was born in 1963 in Plovdiv. He took up photography as a student in 1975. Until he graduated from high school, every year he won the 1st or 2nd place at the district and national photography contests of Youth Technical and Scientific Creativity. After military service, in 1985 he graduated from the Julius Fučík High School of Polygraphy

Милан Христев е роден през 1963 г. в Пловдив. С фотография започва да се занимава още като ученик през 1975 г. До завършването на средното си об разование всяка година печели 1-во или 2-ро място на окръжните и национал ни конкурси за фотография на ТНТМ. След казармата през 1985 г. завършва Техникума по полиграфия и фотогра

and Photography. In 1985, he successfully specialized inORWOplant inGermany. In 1990, hewas awarded the title of Fine Art Photography Artist, and in 1993 with the Artist FIAP distinction. He presented author’s collections in Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, USA, Switzerland and Hungary. Milan participated and won awards in more than 60 Bulgarian and international joint exhibitions. He is the winner of the Honorary ACADEMICA Statuette of Academy of Photography Bulgaria Yanka Kyurkchieva. He currently owns a photo studio with the FOTOMAX Gallery in Plovdiv.

My name is Hristo Dimitrov. I was born in Plovdiv. I graduated the Agricul tural university of my hometown Plovdiv, Bachelor degree programme Agricultural Economics. I graduated qualification “Master” class Multimedia and Virtual Reality, at the Academy of Music, Dance and Visual Arts “Prof. Asen Diamandiev” - Plovdiv. At that time i work in a phar maceutical company, like a Sales Repre sentative. I love to spend my time doing nature photogra phy, rediscovering and capturing its beauty through the lens of my camera. The nature in Bulgaria provides many opportunities for landscape photographers. I feel lucky that I have the chance to travel not only in Bulgaria but and around the world, and spend all my free time in the mountains. This enables me to visit and explore beautiful places and to enjoy moments that otherwise I wouldn’t be able to see or experience in my life. I can also show the incredible beauty of the nature to other people who might not be able to enjoy it personally. I started practising photography more seriously in 2009, when I bought my first DSLR cam era. It became immediately my faithful companion in my hiking trips in the nature. Photography for me is a way to express the world as I see and feel it and also to reach the hearts of many people , no matter where they are. Regardless of the differences between peo ple, photography removes all borders and that’s why in every photo I give my best . You have to be extreme ly patient with nature, because it can surprise you in many ways while you are taking photos of it. And it can also provide you that one unique moment just for you to capture it once in a life time.

Казвам се Христо Димитров. Роден съм в Пловдив. Завършил съм Аграрния универси тет в родния ми град Пловдив, бакалавърска програма Икономика на селското стопанство. Завърших и „Магистърски“ клас “Мултиме дия и виртуална реалност“, в Академия за музикално, танцово и изобразително из куство „Проф. Асен Диамандиев“ - Пловдив. В момента работя във фармацевтична компания, като търговски представител.

Обичам да прекарвам свободното си времето правейки пейзажна фотография, преоткривайки и улавяйки нейната красота през обектива на фотоапарата. Природата в България предоставя много възможности за пейзажистите. Чувствам се късметлия, че имам възможност да пътувам както в България, така и по света, да прекарвам цялото си свободно време в правене на пейзажна фотография. Това ми позволява да посещавам много красиви места и да се на- слаждавам на моменти, които иначе не бих могъл да видя или преживея. Фотографията ми дава възможност да покажа невероятната красота на природата и на други хора, които може да не могат да й се насладят лично. Започнах да се занимавам по-сериозно с фотография през 2009 г., когато си купих първия DSLR фотоапарат. Който веднага стана мой верен спътник в преходите сред природата. Фотогра фията за мен е начин да изразя светатака, както го виждам и усещам, както и да достигна до сърцата на много хора, независимо къде се намират. Независимо от различията между хората, фотографията премахва всички граници и за това във всяка снимка давам всичко от себе си. Трябва да сте изключителнотърпеливи с природата, защототя може да ви изненада по много начини, докато искате да я засне мете. И същотака може да е благосклонна и да ви предоста ви онзи едничък уникален момент, който да ви остави без дъх и да e само за вас, за да го уловите и запечатате завинаги.
